External Verifiers are appointed by City & Guilds to ensure that all assessment within all our centres are fair, valid, consistent and meet the requirements of the qualification.

After your first approval visit, the external verifier will make regular visits to monitor internal quality assurance systems and sample assessment activity.  The external verifier will:

• Check claims for certification to ensure that they are authentic, valid and supported by auditable records.
• Provide advice and support, including help with the interpretation of the qualification, development of internal assessment and evidence evaluation systems that are fair and reliable.  
• Share and promote best practice and report back to City & Guilds.
