Senior Award holders

Mr Vaughan Jones
Vaughan attained Membership (MCGI) status in the subject of Dental Technology. Vaughan, a Senior Chief orthodontic technologist for the NHS, chose City & Guilds because of our good reputation, having previously taken City & Guilds courses, he though he would come back and attain one of the highest awards we offer. The achievement of Membership of the City & Guilds Institute gave Vaughan an enormous sense of pride, as he continues to develop customised designs and expand laboratory services within the Orthodontic field.
Mrs Jane Jackson
Jane was awarded the Membership (MCGI) award in Leadership in Nursing. Since achieving her MCGI status Jane’s career has developed greatly and she has recently been one of the first nurses to gain ‘consultant nurse’ status within the area of pre-operative assessment. Outside her work with the West Hertfordshire NHS trust, Jane has worked with the University of Southampton and the National Health Service University in developing e-learning tools for the nursing profession.

Mr Phillip Calthorpe
Phillip achieved Graduateship (GCGI) status in Engineering, having worked in the Engineering field for many years firstly as a Cell Engineer, now as a Welding Engineer, Phillip chose the Graduateship as he wanted he wanted to gain a nationally recognised award. Having tasted fame on the BBC 2 television programme Robot Wars, reaching the Heat Finals with a robot built from scratch, Phillip is looking for advancement in the working world and feels that with his Graduateship award in Engineering, his career prospects can only be advanced.

Mr Rajinder Paul Singh
Rajinder gained the Graduateship (GCGI) award via City & Guilds fast track engineering route. Rajinder, a boiler engineer takes great pride in achieving a qualification which is comparable to a BA (Hons) Degree, he feels that the GCGI will help him improve his career prospects within the Engineering industry. Rajinder feels that City & Guilds has an excellent reputation in the Engineering field, and that the Graduateship is a valuable addition to his other City & Guilds awards.
Mr Kevin Freeman
Kevin Freeman attained Licentiateship (LCGI) award in Security Management. Working as an operations manager for a national security company Kevin has full responsibility for all security related issues as well as managing human resources, business performance and customer support. Having a security background in the Armed Forces, Kevin found that moving into the Security Industry was a natural transition. His LCGI qualification is one of a number of qualifications he has taken since leaving the armed forces, his LCGI being at the highest level he has attained so far in his professional development. Kevin considers that the LCGI has helped further his career and is the 'pinnacle of my career to date.'

Mr Adrian Butler
Adrian achieved the Licentiateship (LCGI) award in Aeronautical Engineering. He joined for the Royal Air Force in January 1977, as a Junior Technician, working on many types of aircraft including Harriers, Tornadoes, VC-10’s and Puma Helicopters eventually rising to the position of Chief Technician. Adrian feels great pride in achieving this qualification and believes that it will prove a great asset as he leaves the armed forces and looks for his first civilian role.
