Benefits of membership
Any awarding body, that is Part A accredited, offering vocational qualifications can become a member of FAB. The benefits of FAB membership include:
- a forum to discuss policy with the regulators and partner organisations where FAB will present the common interests of all vocational awarding bodies members;
- a reliable and timely source of business information for our market place;
- full access to the FAB website http://www.awarding.org.uk/ which is updated regularly and includes full information on all our working groups
- as many website logins for member staff as are required;
- an update newsletter is emailed to all members every other month to inform contacts of recent developments, the work of the Executive Committee and forthcoming meetings;
- a weekly email update is sent to all members giving details of all policy initiatives affecting vocational awarding bodies, information on FAB member events and act as a reminder for certain stakeholder events and activities;
- preferential rates at FAB’s annual National Conference are offered to all members (details of last year’s conference can be found on the website);
- we also offer a series of discussion events with our partner organisations on all latest policy changes. In 2005, seminars focussed on issues including e-assessment, Sector Qualification Strategies, the Framework for Achievement and the Credit and Qualifications Framework in Wales (CQFW), and changes to the Inspection criteria with ALI and Ofsted;
- the opportunity for your organisation to build a network with other interested parties including other member organisations;
- an environment of support and guidance on the current issues affecting vocational qualification provision;
- eligibility to serve on the Federation of Awarding Bodies’ Executive Committee;
- full voting rights at FAB’s annual general meeting.
