If you wish to gain City & Guilds qualification approval and are currently approved for the equivalent NVQ with either Edexcel or OCR, you can take advantage of our common qualification approval service. 

To do this, send the following to your City & Guilds regional/national office:

• two most recent EV reports and qualification approval letter
• completed City & Guilds qualification approval form (QAP).pdf 0.20mb
• a cheque for £200 (an invoice can be raised if preferred)

On receipt of the above information, the regional/national office will review the information provided and inform your centre in writing if the application is successful, and allocate an external verifier.  Subject to positive acceptance of external verifier reports from your previous awarding body, your centre will not be subject to a qualification approval visit.

It is important to note that at this stage, your centre will only be able to register candidates on their chosen qualification, and certification will be subject to a positive monitoring visit by an external verifier.

When your centre is ready to certificate candidates, they should contact their external verifier directly to arrange a visit.
