David Wilbraham graduated in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and subsequently took a PhD. He was awarded Fellowship by City & Guilds in 2004.

His career in the chemical industry with ICI plc in the UK and USA culminated in appointments as Vice President of ICI Specialty Chemicals and then Managing Director of ICI Chemical Products. He joined Laporte plc as Chief Operating Officer, and then Hickson International plc as Chief Executive and then Chairman.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director of St Ives plc and RPC Group plc, both listed on the London Stock Exchange, and Non Executive Chairman of Akers Biosciences Inc, an AIM listed US company. He is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Intelligent Engineering Ltd, and a Non-Executive Director of DeltaDOT Ltd, and HydtoVenturi Ltd, all technology start-up companies.

David is Treasurer of City & Guilds as well as being a member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee, Vice Chairman of International Committee, and a Director of NPTC. He is also a Governor of Imperial College London.
