Working with children and young people

It’s a talent. Some people are just good with children. If you’re one of them then maybe you should consider a career working with children and young people. The work will be as varied and demanding as the kids themselves but don’t forget the massive emotional rewards you’ll get from seeing them grow up into responsible, well-rounded adults.
The work in this area is quite varied and depends completely on the age of the children you’re caring for. Working with teenagerswill be light years away from working with nursery age children. For some jobs you can start from scratch, but for most of them it pays to get a qualification.
It helps you to make the most of your skills and give children your best. After all, you’ll play an important role as you watch them grow – socially, physically, creatively and emotionally and a qualification can help you up the career ladder.
