The new level 2 Diploma for IT Practitioners (e-Quals 07)
City & Guilds is pleased to announce the accreditation of the level 2 Diploma for IT Practitioners in response to centre feedback. This is a new qualification that allows centres to offer a full time qualification that accurately reflects learners’ job roles
To qualify for the award, learners must take one core unit, plus additional units to a minimum of 325 guided learning hours, 60% of the guided learning hours must be at level 2. Learners may also select one unit from the IT user options and one unit from non-IT options.

The qualification is also recognised as a Technical Certificate for ICT Apprentices

Centre and qualification approval
Existing City & Guilds centres approved to run the e-Quals level 2 Diploma in Systems Support (7262-24, -34 or -84) or Software Development (7262-22) will receive automatic approval, to run the new 7266 level 2 Diploma for IT Practitioners. Because of the additional software development units included in this qualification, centres with direct claim status will have to await their first EV visit before certificates can be issued. The automatic approval process will be completed internally, by City & Guilds.
New centres wishing to run the award must apply for full qualification approval.
