Stuart Greer – Welding

Stuart is 20 years old and lives in Ulceby near Grimsby. He has successfully completed a City & Guilds NVQ Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Welding as well as an Apprenticeship. He now works for Doosan Babcock Energy Limited, a multi-specialist energy services company.

‘I have always known welding since I was a boy. It seemed natural to follow the same career path as my dad, so I got started in training. By taking part in WorldSkills I hope to gain a deeper understanding of my trade.’

Competition requirements: Stuart will need to weld components, structures, plates, pipes and tanks using a variety of different processes.
