Philip Jackson – CNC Milling

Philip is 22 years old and lives in Malvern. He studied at Worcester Technology College where he gained numerous qualifications including an NVQ Level 3 in Machining, a City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Production and a BTEC National Certificate. He also completed his Apprenticeship in 2006.

Philip works for Yamazaki Mazak Ltd, one of the world’s largest suppliers of CNC lathes, machining centres and manufacturing systems.

‘I have developed new skills, had good experiences and made wonderful achievements through skills competitions, for which I am extremely grateful. I hope that my competing in WorldSkills reflects the seriousness and dedication I put into my profession.’

Competition requirements: Philip will use commercially available materials and equipment and must handle them and produce results in accordance with the strict specifications provided.
