To make life simpler for our centres we have now combined all the separate qualification parts of a Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship, into one single point of registration: 9710 Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship/Advanced Apprenticeship . This means a centre is no longer required to register a candidate separately for both constituent parts: the NVQ or the Key Skills.

Same quality qualifications; simpler administration; better value!

These qualifications are highly practical and provide the skills and underpinning knowledge required to practice as a professional therapist.

The level 2 apprenticeship has two routes:

• The first is a beauty therapy route intended for anyone interested in gaining basic beauty therapy skills or looking to work as an assistant beauty therapist 
• the second is a make-up route intended for anyone interested in make-up or looking to work as a beauty consultant or in the cosmetic retail industry.

The level 3 apprenticeship has three routes (making it more suitable for senior salon staff):

• General beauty therapy
• make-up
• massage therapies. 

Both apprenticeships packages offer one registration fee for the two qualifications (NVQ and Key Skills). 

Candidates must take one of the following qualifications:

NVQs

• 3023 City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Beauty Therapy General Route  (for the apprenticeship)
• 3023 City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Beauty Theraoy Make-Up Route (for the apprenticeship)
• 3023 City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Beauty Therapy General Route (for the advanced apprenticeship)
• 3023 City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Beauty Therapy Massage Route (for the advanced apprenticeship)
• 3023 City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Beauty Therapy Make-up Route (for the advanced apprenticeship)
