Steven has been a Council member since 2007. He serves on the International Committee. He has been a solicitor in private practice all his working life, initially with Denton Wilde Sapte and subsequently with Coudert Brothers and Dewey & LeBoeuf. Since 1 May 2008 he has worked as Senior Counsel in London for Fasken Martineau Stringer Saul, one of the largest Canadian law firms with a substantial office in London. Steven was the first (and only) English solicitor to be appointed as Chairman of an American law firm, based in New York. Throughout his career, he has concentrated on international investment and finance, particularly in the areas of energy and infrastructure, project finance and private equity He is a member of the Drapers’ Company.
