We’ve created a suite of flexible qualifications that are suitable for young people and adults, for those who are pre-employment, in employment or seeking employment, and that build on the good practice from our existing qualifications.

The qualifications available are:

• City & Guilds Entry 2 Award in Employability and Personal Development
• City & Guilds Entry 3 Award in Employability and Personal Development
• City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Employability and Personal Development
• City & Guilds Entry 2 Certificate in Employability and Personal Development
• City & Guilds Entry 3 Certificate in Employability and Personal Development
• City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Employability and Personal Development
   

These qualifications have been accredited by QCA on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).  They contribute to the Personal and Social Development aspects of the FLT Progression Pathways. These qualifications are supported by Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council with cross sectoral responsibility for employability.

Units
Centres may contextualise the units to meet the progression routes that are most relevant to learners.

• The number of mandatory units has been kept to a minimum - a wide choice of optional units allow you to tailor the qualification to your learners’ needs

If you’re already offering the Certificate in Preparation for Employment (3797), then you’re eligible for fast track approval for our new suite.

If you’re an approved City & Guilds centre (but not offering 3797) you’ll need to complete a Qualification Approval Form (QAP). 

If you’re not an approved centre, please follow our straightforward centre approval process.
