Example key skills portfolios
Example key skills portfolios
The example portfolio documents below provide practical guidance on organising and referencing key skills evidence, and on the kind and amount of evidence required.
They are intended, along with the 2004 key skills standards and guidance, to help assessors interpret the key skills. They are based on the 2004 key skills standards and guidance and show real work from real candidates.
These documents were produced by QCA, with input from City & Guilds and the other major key skills awarding bodies.
Stand-alone or combined?
An individual example portfolio has been produced for each of the six key skills, and there are also a number of 'combined' examples where evidence meets the standard for up to three key skills qualifications. The skill areas and levels covered are indicated in each case.
When using the stand-alone example portfolios for Application of Number, Communication and Information Technology, please be aware that these were originally produced to the 2000 key skills specificiations. A commentary, detailing how evidence could be mapped to current 2004 standards, can be found on the last page of each document.
