Due to maternity leave an exciting opportunity has arisen in the Assessment & Quality Department for a highly motivated individual with solid management experience and a background in the field of vocational assessment and educational measurement.
Assessment & Quality is made up of three teams:
- Assessment Development
- Policy & Regulation
- Quality Improvement
Collectively these teams are responsible for ensuring that City & Guilds’ assessment strategies engage the learner, are fit for purpose, comply with regulatory requirements and uphold principles of best practice.
This role of Senior Manager is within the Assessment Development team. Assessment Development has a key role in driving forward City & Guilds’ Assessment Strategy, to ensure we are world leaders in the development and delivery of innovative assessment. The role will be essential to ensure that the strategy and direction established by the newly formed Assessment Committee and Assessment Workstream is operationalised and taken forward over the coming year.
This will involve:
- working with a cross functional group to help define City & Guilds’ future strategy for the innovation, application and integration of e-assessment
- ensuring Assessment Development’s objectives are met in terms of up skilling the organisation in assessment methodology, re-professionalising assessment practice and providing support in assessment matters
- working across the City & Guilds Group to develop and promote a standardised approach to assessment processes
- supporting the organisation during a time of potential change in assessment practice, brought about by the Qualifications and Credit Framework
- contributing to the design and in-house delivery of assessment training modules
- leading Assessment Development through a period of change to ensure continuity and direction.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in the field of educational assessment, in particular in the vocational sector
